| The first step on the Instructor Ladder after Divemaster is the PADI Assistant Instructor.
PADI Assistant Instructors carry out a variety of roles including assisting instructors on courses, organising dive activities, leading certified divers on dives and conducting scuba review and local orientation dives.
In addition, PADI Assistant Instructors may also teach knowledge development portions of courses and may conduct certain training dives under the indirect supervision of a certified instructor.
The course is designed to extend your skills as a dive profressional and prepare you for the first part of the instructor development programme.
This course runs over 3 days and covers a wide range of knowledge development topics, as well as learning how to effectively teach knowledge development topics to students.
The course costs Euro 425 excluding manuals, student pack and equipment but including all diving and air fills.
Divers from other agencies can participate in this course if they have an equivalent training level to Divemaster.
Note: For all diving activities, certain medical conditions may require you to have authorisation from your doctor. If you tick yes to any of the items on the medical form, you must get authorisation to dive before you come. If unsure, read and/or download PADI medical statement .
