| Diving and snorkeling are activities that can be enjoyed at much younger ages than before, thanks to the availability of smaller equipment and courses specifically focussed for younger people.
Snorkeling courses can be taken by anyone from age 8, and children from 8-9 can do a bubblemaker dive in the pool or can take the PADI Seal Team Course, a swimming pool based course.
The PADI Seal Team program is an exciting underwater activity-filled introduction
to the world of diving.
The PADI Seal Team program gives children a
chance to swim around underwater and experience adventure, discovery and
thrills. It also provides parents or guardians with a structured program that lets
their children develop skills, learn about the aquatic realm and have a lot of
good, clean fun.
Anyone from age 10 can participate in the normal dive courses listed on the left, though certain depth restrictions will apply until age 15.
Burren Adventures also runs Summer Aqua Camps which consist of Snorkeling, skin diving, 1 sea dive and the Project Aware course. The Summer Aqua Camps run from Monday to Friday, 10-4, during the Summer months and are open to anyone from age 10-17.
Note: For all diving activities, certain medical conditions may require you to have authorisation from your doctor. If you tick yes to any of the items on the medical form, you must get authorisation to dive before you come. If unsure, read and/or download PADI medical statement .
